Dear Neuroscience, Behavior and Health Community,
We are excited to invite you to register and submit an abstract for the upcoming virtual 2022 Neuroscience, Behavior and Health Forum (NBH)!
The main portion of the meeting will be Saturday, January 22nd in the morning and early afternoon for virtual presentations of various kinds. We are again using a virtual format due to considerations surrounding the ever-evolving impacts of COVID. To help dovetail with the virtual format there will be two main categories for presentation;
The data blitz presentations will be capped at 5 minutes and be limited to 3 slides (e.g., intro on slide 1, data on slide 2, and conclusions on slide 3...but you can be creative!). Data blitzes will be grouped thematically into blocks of approximately 5 talks, followed by a 10 minute panel discussion for speakers in each block to answer questions. A benefit is that it lends itself well to presenting projects that could be in any stage of progress from early stage to mature projects. We think that this format will create a dynamic and fun way to showcase some great science in a virtual format. For those choosing this format, the abstract submission can simply be a 3-5 sentence summary to help us group talks based on theme.
The platform talks are also available for anyone preferring that format. These will be a 15 minute talk followed by 5 minutes of questions and answers.
As always, trainees are especially encouraged to submit. We are excited to celebrate the fantastic work done by trainees across the region! Each presentation format will come with the chance for prizes in different groups (post-doc, graduate student, undergraduate, etc) or within each data blitz (e.g., most timely, best overall).
The abstract submission
portal is now open (Abstract
Submission). Please note that VT SfN membership
and dues are not required for registration and participation in
the NBH forum (but
encouraged). While a quick timeline, we invite you to submit your
abstracts by January 17th.
In case we have missed anyone, please feel free to pass along this message. We wish you all the best and are looking forward to a great NBH Forum 2022!
