PCP as secret therapist

Here's a NYT opinion piece, explaining the intricacies of PCP and young adult patients.  Any reactions?

  1. It seemed very much in line with my experience - primary care has lots of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health in it. Marijuana use is more common in younger adults, but the psychic issues he mentions appear all along the life span. Everyone is always trying to figure out what they want to be "when they grow up."

    1. I wondered if a psychologist would be concerned that a PCP is tampering with a process that should be guided by a specialist... I'll have to go track down Rodger and ask him.
