RAND HRS Longitudinal 2016 and RAND HRS 2016 Fat Files Available The RAND HRS Longitudinal 2016 and RAND HRS 2016 Fat Files are now available on the HRS website. The RAND HRS Longitudinal File 2016 (V1) is a user-friendly file derived from all waves of the HRS. It is a respondent-level file containing cleaned and processed variables with consistent naming conventions, model-based imputations for missing data, and spousal counterparts of most individual-level variables. The RAND HRS 2016 Fat File contains most of the original HRS variables with household data merged to the respondent-level. There is one file for each survey year. Currently, there are files for 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016. The RAND HRS data files are available in SAS, SPSS and STATA formats and include corresponding data documentation. The RAND Center for the Study of Aging creates the RAND HRS data products under subcontract from HRS. The HRS and the RAND products are supported by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and the Social Security Administration (SSA). Please refer to the RAND HRS Longitudinal File 2016 (V1) Documentation and RAND HRS Fat Files README for more information about these data products.
