The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down
Anne Fadiman, author of The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, will be giving the UVM Zeltzerman lecture this Tuesday. The book discusses the case of a young Hmong refugee girl in the US with epilepsy and how health care failed her. It is a gripping story and an excellent book. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear a writer whose book has become an icon of how culture and science interact ro produce health care.
